Everything You Need To Know About Foundations . . .

Q1.) Where are the best places to test your foundation?

Ans.) You should test your foundation on your lower cheek point, jawline, under your eyes, on your nose and around your nose. Additionally you should test the foundation on one side of your face and compare it to the other blank side of your face.

Q2.) How do you know what is the best color for you?

Ans.) Now I know that foundations doesn't come in a variety of colors. So first pick a foundation that you think best match your color. When you apply the foundation it should "disappear"into your skin. If the foundation is just "disappearing" into your face color then you probably are choosing the right color. If you are having a hard time blending the foundation to match your skin color then you should always pick one shade darker than the color you have chose. The reason being is that the warmer tones of the foundation tends to match better with your skin color one shade darker than your skin tone actually is.

Q3.) How important is a primer?

A primer is very very important before applying foundation. A primer is the foundation of building a foundation face (no pun intended!). Foundation will glide and smooth on your face when using a primer. It is going to allow the foundation to sink in your face and have better application. Primers also help your foundation to last longer and adhere to your face.

Q4.) Brushes or Sponges?

Sponges takes up more product as oppose to a Brush. Brushes gives better application process and allow the foundation to just glide over your face. Brushes also uses less products than anything else. I would definitely recommend brushes more than sponges.

Q5.) How to Use Foundation?

Do not apply foundation all over your face. Foundation is only meant to be applied on your bad parts such as hyper pigmented areas, acne scar areas and where blemishes are. You are not suppose to put foundation all over your face.

Q6.) Foundation/Concealer Concerns?

Use your concealer over your foundation. If you put a concealer first and then you take a buffing brush and buff your foundation in then you are going to remove the concealer. Then what was the point of putting on that concealer. So remember it is foundation first and then concealer.

Q7.) Translucent Powder/Tinted Powders?

Translucent powders are so much better for you then Tinted powders. Translucent powders are best to set your foundation. You can avoid a greater chance of having a white cast if using a Translucent Powder. Tinted powders can give you a white cast when using flash photography.
